“Toffees’ Takeover Trajectory Takes Off with French Funds: Everton Eyes ‘Exceptional’ £136m Boost from France”.
One of the potential investors looking to take over Everton has received a £160 million boost due to developments in his business ventures.
The Everton takeover has been ongoing for over a year, leaving fans uncertain about the club’s management for the 2024-25 season.
Farhad Moshiri is now considering other options after an exclusive negotiation period with Miami-based 777 Partners ended in May.
Several candidates, including financial groups and wealthy individuals, are interested in the takeover.
One such candidate is Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor, who is currently attempting to sell his 40% stake in the club.
Textor, a billionaire with stakes in various clubs worldwide, has received positive news from his involvement in France.
John Textor secured a £136 million deal involving Olympique Lyon.
The 58-year-old had initiated a financial reorganization of Lyon last year, aiming to sell non-core football assets.
One of these assets, the LDLC Arena, a 16,000-capacity sports and music venue, has now been sold.
The deal, completed with Lyon’s former owners Holnest, is valued at £136 million, according to Sport Business.
Textor has committed to reinvesting the funds into the football operations, providing a foundation to build upon their 6th place finish in the 2023-24 season.
