Leeds United Brace for Summerville Snatch: Nottingham Forest Circles Star Winger
Leeds United are in a precarious situation and might lose Crysencio Summerville this summer, with Nottingham Forest potentially interested, according to Daniel Taylor of The Athletic.
In a Q&A session about Forest on May 28, Taylor revealed that Forest had shown strong interest in Summerville two years ago when he was valued at about £2 million. After Leeds’ Championship play-off final loss to Southampton on May 26, the club now faces the risk of losing their top players, with Summerville being a key target for several Premier League and international teams.
Taylor mentioned, “I know Forest considered Crysencio Summerville seriously two years ago. He was affordable then at around £2 million, and in hindsight, Forest might regret not signing him. Will they pursue him now? I’m not sure, but it wouldn’t be surprising. Leeds are definitely in a vulnerable position this summer.”
This transfer window could be challenging for Leeds United, especially after their failure to secure an immediate return to the Premier League. Despite manager Daniel Farke likely staying, key players like Summerville, Wilfried Gnonto, and Georginio Rutter might leave Elland Road. Phil Hay noted that Leeds will need to sell players to comply with EFL financial regulations and that some of their top talents are unhappy about spending another year outside the top flight.
Summerville is definitely one of those players. As the Championship Player of the Year, he has Premier League-level talent and is likely to be a reluctant but inevitable departure from Farke’s squad in the coming weeks.
Other key players, like Archie Gray and Illan Meslier, are ones Leeds will be keen to retain, but any attractive offers are likely to challenge the club’s determination to keep them.
