BREAKING: QB Trey Lance of the Dallas Cowboys Sends a Strong Message Before the 2024 Season

Many believed that the Dallas Cowboys had acquired a potential Dak Prescott replacement when they acquired quarterback Trey Lance in a trade. Others believed that after Lance was developed, he would either be traded or granted free agency. But the first one is beginning to seem like a realistic possibility.

This offseason, Jerry Jones and the Cowboys front staff decided not to offer Prescott an extension. That was a clear indication that they would not stick with their franchise quarterback through to the 2024 campaign.

It’s currently thought that in order to keep the roster largely intact, the Cowboys must qualify for the playoffs and make a deep run. Jones might take some extreme measures if they are unable to achieve those objectives. Leaving Prescott behind can be one of such actions.

Trey Lance experiment has saved the Cowboys a pricey investment

At the conclusion of the 2024 season, Lance might very well be given the opportunity to start as the next starter if the Dallas Cowboys decide to part ways with Prescott for any reason.

In light of everything said above, Lance has been receiving a lot of attention. Lance made a big statement regarding his outlook and his NFL future prior to the 2024 season.

“I’m convinced of it; it’s definitely higher than when I entered the NFL. I was a little unsure about what to anticipate. That, in my opinion, represents the majority of rookies, if not all of them, at some point throughout that first offseason and year. I’m happy with where I am right now. keeping improving, learning new things, and becoming a great quarterback.

After a dismal season with the San Francisco 49ers, Lance felt that joining a team like the Dallas Cowboys was the best thing that could have happened.

He has had no expectation to perform and has been free to study from the sidelines in Dallas. He is the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft because of his undeniable arm talent.

Lance completed 54.9 percent of his pass attempts for 797 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions in his eight career games with the 49ers. On the ground, he gained 235 yards and a touchdown as well.

Lance probably would have remained the starting quarterback in 2022 if he hadn’t been hurt. But he did suffer a horrific injury, and the rest is history as Brock Purdy took over and didn’t look back.

Whether Lance has a genuine future with the Dallas Cowboys will be interesting to watch. Another team will probably give Lance a chance if the Cowboys decide to extend Prescott after their big-season victory. He just needs to wait for the right opportunity, even though he has the skills to play.
