Josh Hart Shares His Real Thoughts on the New York Knicks Coach’s Possible Contract Extension
Among the many choices the New York Knicks must make in the offseason is whether to keep on as head coach. But the front management ought to award Josh Hart the deal he so richly deserves.
For the first twenty years of his career, Thibodeau served as an assistant coach in the NBA for several clubs. The Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs, Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, and Houston Rockets are a few of these.
In 2010, Thibodeau was hired as the Chicago Bulls’ head coach after many years as an assistant coach. After that, in 2016, the native of Connecticut transferred to the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he continued to work as an executive until 2019.

Josh Hart believes the New York Knicks should give Tom Thibodeau the contract he deserves.
Despite losing to the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the playoffs, New York still had a lot of potential. Josh Hart, a star player for the Knicks, has publicly stated that Thibodeau ought to receive the deal he is due from the team. In a piece Dan Martin penned for the New York Post:
“And although Tom Thibodeau still has one year remaining on his five-year contract, there will be a lot of discussion this summer about the head coach’s new contract.
Hart expressed his desire for Thibodeau to stay in the game for a very long time.
When asked if he thought Thibodeau will soon sign a new contract, Hart responded, “He deserves it.” He puts forth a lot of effort at work and gets us ready. He sees to it that we are thinking clearly. However, I don’t control it,” Martin wrote.
During Thibodeau’s four seasons as head coach, the Knicks finished with 318 wins and 175 defeats. Moreover, in the four years he was head coach, New York made three trips to the playoffs.
What the Knicks front office decides to do about Thibodeau’s contract extension is yet unknown. But the ferocious head coach won’t move anyplace else if Hart is to be followed.
