“Siakam Shines as Pacers Force Decider Against Knicks”
Pascal Siakam scored 25 points, leading the Indiana Pacers to a 116-103 victory over the New York Knicks and forcing a decisive game in their NBA Eastern Conference semi-finals.
Myles Turner added 17 points and eight rebounds for the sixth-seeded Pacers. Tyrese Haliburton, Andrew Nembhard, and TJ McConnell each contributed 15 points at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The series, now tied 3-3, has seen each game won by the home team. The decisive game seven will be held on Sunday in New York.
“Now it’s a one-game series,” Haliburton remarked. “It’s for all the marbles. Where better to have a game seven than Madison Square Garden? We need to be ready.”
Jalen Brunson scored 26 of his 31 points in the second half for the second-seeded Knicks, while Miles McBride contributed 20 points, Donte DiVincenzo added 17, and Precious Achiuwa chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds.
The Pacers held a 61-51 lead at halftime and extended their advantage with a 10-2 run early in the second half.
“We played harder tonight, which was necessary,” said coach Rick Carlisle. “We moved the ball better and secured more rebounds.
“In a series like this, you can’t rest on your laurels. We’ll keep our celebrations brief, if any, and focus on getting ready for Sunday.”
The winner will face the Boston Celtics in the seven-game Eastern Conference finals starting Wednesday, with a spot in the NBA Finals, beginning June 6, on the line.
