Ange Postecoglou now has two Tottenham suspension risks after the Liverpool clash

Tottenham are set for another full week on the training pitches at Hotspur Way after a dramatic Premier League win over Liverpool. A Joel Matip own goal saw Spurs pick up another three points against Jurgen Klopp’s side who ended the game with just nine men after red cards for Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota,

Despite the game finishing three days ago, major talking points from the clash are still being heavily discussed with VAR controversy dominating headlines. Luis Diaz thought he had given Liverpool the lead moments after Jones’ dismissal but the strike was disallowed with the linesman flagging for offside and a quick VAR check confirming the decision.

However, it was revealed that the interpretation of the goal was incorrect by the VAR room and it instead should have counted. In the wake of the incident, Liverpool have made a huge VAR request from the game which is set to be granted. From a Tottenham perspective, Ange Postecoglou has a huge concern involving Yves Bissouma and Destiny Udogie after the duo each picked up bookings against Liverpool.

Double suspension worry
The Premier League table makes for very good reading for Tottenham fans at present following Saturday’s late 2-1 victory over Liverpool. Ange Postecoglou has made an incredible start to life in north London taking 17 points from a possible 21 with marquee performances and points taken from games against Manchester United, Arsenal and now Liverpool.

Despite an unbeaten start to the league season, there are a number of concerns for Postecoglou with injury issues sure to be one of those. Both James Maddison and captain Son Heung-min are not 100 percent fit but both persevered to play an important role in the victory over Liverpool.

Another worry for Postecoglou comes in the form of suspensions with a crucial Tottenham duo nearing their fifth yellow cards of the season, respectively.

Premier League commentator Jacqui Oatley has revealed what would have been said to Simon Hooper by VAR during the review of Luis Diaz’s offside goal.

With minimal transparency on display to both match-going fans and viewers at home regarding VAR, Jacqui Oatley has attempted to provide some clarity on what happens when incidents are reviewed by VAR from the perspective of a commentator.
