Everton: Cheaper takeover now on cards at Goodison Park

Dan Plumley has insisted that a cheaper takeover could be on the cards at Everton if 777 Partners fail in their bid at Goodison Park.

A decision from the Premier League was expected recently, but that has yet to arrive with the financial future of the club said to be in jeopardy if not successful.

Plumley insisted that the dreadful scenarios of relegation or even administration that have both been mentioned could lead to a cheaper acquisition of the club for other investors.

“They are actually a cheaper acquisition if the worst case happened,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“You have got that jeopardy as well for the club to consider with new investors coming in because if 777 does fall through, new people waiting in the wings will know that Everton are a cheaper acquisition in the case of administration or relegation from the Premier League.

“Whenever those factors are in the balance, other people looking from the outside in may be thinking of potentially waiting and looking at picking up a cheaper acquisition.

“I guess, the club may have to go through a bit of pain within that if it is not 777 to achieve a new takeover in the future.”

Thankfully, administration is one thing that looks to have been ruled out, despite the numerous charges against the club this season.

After gaining conditional approval from the Premier League, 777 knows what they must do to get their takeover over the line, and now it is over to them.

If this doesn’t go through, we will all know why.
