Joe Mazzulla revealed Wednesday he has been informed he can no longer contest opposing shots after the whistle.

On a Wednesday radio appearance with 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Zolak & Bertrand Show,” Mazzulla declined to reveal who communicated with him he would need to stop the unusual tactic, but said he has been told he can’t do that anymore. Mazzulla said he expects a new rule to be announced shortly.

“I can’t say (who told the Celtics coach to stop doing it),” Mazzulla said. “All I know is we won’t be doing that anymore.”
