GREAT NEWS:As Steelers' Veteran QB Russel Wilson Finally Agreed To Re-contract A Five-year Deal After...

The Pittsburgh Steelers apparently would like to keep quarterback Russell Wilson in Pittsburgh for the foreseeable future.

The Steelers, who on Friday made Wilson’s one-year contract official, plan to ink the veteran QB to a long-term deal after the conclusion of the 2024 season, according to Gerry Dulac of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Pittsburgh has completely overhauled its QB room this offseason. In addition to the signing of Wilson, The Steelers let backup Mason Rudolph walk in free agency, jettisoned 2022 first-round pick Kenny Pickett in a trade to the Philadelphia Eagles and finally acquired dual-threat Justin Fields in a deal with the Chicago Bears on Saturday.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin reportedly informed Fields that Wilson will be the team’s starter.
