Everton desperately need something to pull them out of the mire.
As many have attested, the performances have not merited the run of results they are enduring, but at the end of the day, it is your ability to find the net that ultimately counts.
Unfortunately for Sean Dyche, his plays are incapable of doing that at the moment.
Without a Premier League win in 11 despite performing well in the bulk of those matches, it is a wonder where the spark might come from to save their season.
Fortunately, they do boast a supremely talented asset who is soon set to return from injury.
When is Arnaut Danjuma back from injury?
Offering the classic injury round-up in his pre-match press conference before Saturday’s loss to Manchester United, he detailed how Idrissa Gana Gueye was the only player of significance who could have been back in time.
He did reference Arnaut Danjuma, but only in passing, with his dismissive synopsis clearly not satisfying one journalist. Pressed on the Dutchman again later in the conference, the former Burnley boss then revealed: ‘There’s a chance definitely, he’s doing very well and working very hard.

‘He’s pleased with how it’s going as well which is always a good sign, when the player feels right. So we are hopeful, but we will see.’
Although he was not really a starter before this injury, perhaps the intensification of their issues could force him back into contention when fit again.
Sean Dyche must start Arnaut Danjuma
Danjuma surely must start when he is deemed ready enough for a return to action.
Not only is he arguably one of the players with the best pedigree at the highest level in the squad, having been in a Champions League semi-final as recently as 2022, but even this season he has shown glimpses of his talent.
That is, despite Dyche having only handed him five league starts.
Whether he fits into his system or not, few can argue that he is not loaded with quality. He oozes class, and offers a fresh, dynamic profile that few of his other wingers boast.
It is likely those assets which helped him record 25 goal contributions in his final season with AFC Bournemouth and a further 16 goals and four assists across all competitions with Villarreal during that aforementioned 2021/22 campaign.
It should therefore come as no surprise that he was branded a ‘nightmare for defenders’, something the £52k-a-week man could now be for Dyche.
He has to try something new, and given his lack of action and current injury woes, his emergence would mark the deployment of a secret weapon to hopefully fire Everton to safety.
