Everton: King speculates punishment as relegation prediction made

Everton will survive relegation from the Premier League this season if it comes down to simply matters on the pitch.

That is according to former Goodison Park scout Bryan King, who made the prediction with caution given how another points deduction may be handed to the club.

The Toffees are currently awaiting punishment for a second Premier League charge regarding a breach of financial rules.

Speaking to Goodison News, King said: “I think if it is just left up to playing, they’ll survive. But what is going to happen with the second charge? Will there be a points deduction, a money fine, we don’t know.

“Rules, and I mean strict rules, to fair play or anything related to transfers that might have a question mark over them, or the use of money that might have a question mark over it, must be put into place. What you can and what you can’t do etc.”

Will Everton be handed another points deduction by the Premier League?
The Toffees have, of course, already been involved in a points deduction this season, having been docked 10 points for financial breaches.

That saw the club plummet down the table, but the Premier League has since reduced that punishment to six points following an appeal from the Merseyside outfit.

It remains to be seen what will happen regarding the second charge, with another points deduction highly likely to lead to relegation for the Toffees this season.
