Everton youngster who models his game on Robert Lewandowski could break into first-team
Everton have a rich history of producing players from their academy and it looks like they may have another beginning to emerge from Finch Farm.
Over the years, Goodison Park has played host to a plethora of Everton academy players, namely Wayne Rooney and Leon Osman, both of whom made a combined 550 appearances for the Merseysiders.
Jarrad Branthwaite is the latest to graduate from the youth team and is enjoying a stellar debut season with The Toffees.
But he certainly won’t be the last, as another Everton starlet is beginning to make a name for himself in the under-18s and 21s.
George Morgan tipped for a bright future
Everton’s under-18 forward George Morgan has been tipped for a bright future, as he was named in The Guardian’s ‘Next Generation: 2023’ series, which singles out 20 of the best talents at Premier League clubs born between September 2006 and August 2007.
The 2006-born is the son of former professional footballer Craig Morgan, who played for Peterborough, Rotherham and Wigan, to list a few. The defender was also capped 23 times at international level with Wales.
Journalist Andy Hunter described Morgan as a ‘powerful, fast centre-forward with an eye for a goal’ and noted that he models his game on Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski.

Having previously represented England at youth level, the highly-rated teenager now plies his trade with Wales and has appeared four times for the under-17s.
George Morgan has a pathway to the first team
It’s a good time to be an Everton academy forward given the current goalscoring woes in the first team. Indeed, Morgan won’t be rushed into senior football right away, but there is a clear pathway for a potential debut if he impresses with the under-21s.
Despite turning 17 in September, the young prodigy has already made his debut in the Premier League 2, following two goals in four starts in the under-18s division.
Young forward Francis Okoronkwo, who has been a regular for the under-21s this term, was forced off through injury at the weekend in a 2-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur, so perhaps Morgan could be given another run in the side in his absence.
Anyhow, with young players, it’s important to allow them time to develop and Dyche will be well aware of that.
So for now, Morgan must focus on performing for the reserve team before he begins to set his sights on a place in Everton’s first team.
