Everton: Relegation release clause news emerges amid Branthwaite transfer update

Everton have included relegation release clauses in all their recent contract negotiations, including Jarrad Branthwaite’s recent new deal, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported on its website on Sunday (25 February) that despite recent links with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United, it would take a substantial offer for the Toffees to consider selling the 21-year-old defender.

However, should Sean Dyche’s side be relegated to the Championship this season, teams will look to exploit Everton’s financial situation and may well be able to activate a relegation release clause that has been included in all the Toffees’ recent negotiations.

There is a lot of uncertainty around Goodison Park at the moment as Everton face a number of off-the-field issues that have made it almost impossible for Dyche and his side to plan and prepare for next season.

Hopefully, some clarity will emerge sooner rather than later to try and boost the Toffees’ chances of keeping Branthwaite or any of the other stars at Goodison Park, otherwise, it could be a very messy summer transfer window.
