Darren Bent slams Everton in rant live on talkSPORT as Premier League relegation verdict given
Darren Bent is “sick and tired” of Everton being involved in relegation scraps without actually dropping out of the Premier League.
The Toffees, not helped by a 10-point deduction, are involved in a dogfight at the bottom end of the division once again this season as they sit outside the bottom three on goal difference.
Former Tottenham striker Bent acknowledged the circumstances this time around are different, but that did not stop him slamming Everton.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [20 February, 4:20pm], Bent said: “I get sick and tired of it. They’re not offering anything. Be ambitious.
“I know this season is a bit of an anomaly, but last season and the season before? Come on.
“They’re 17th, last season they were 17th, the season before 16th. I remember when Carlo Ancelotti finished 10th and there was moaning.
“If you offered them 10th now, they’d snap your hand off.”

The irony of Bent’s point is that Everton would actually be 12th, five points off 10th and six off ninth, had it not been for the deduction.
Should the Toffees be successful with their appeal, which we should hear back on this week, then the picture will look a whole lot different.
No Everton fan enjoys seeing the club scrapping season after season to preserve the club’s long-running top-flight status.
This is where we are right now, though. The hope is that should relegation be staved off again this term, the club can finally then push on.

Bent and co-host Andy Goldstein suggested relegation could prove a blessing for Everton, but it does not always work out that way.
For every Leicester City this season, there are plenty more examples of teams that do not make their way back up.
For now, supporters will continue to get behind the side in the genuine hope that there are better times to come. Hopefully as a Premier League club.
