Everton are expected to learn their fate over their appeal on the Premier League points in [20 February] that the Toffees’ anxious wait over their appeal against the Profit and Sustainability breach charge could be over very soon, but there is another worry.
It is understood that the second charge for the club has caused more uncertainty at Goodison Park, with a second case expected to be heard by the end of March.
The whole process is massively unhelpful for Everton, who have already been sent into a relegation battle due to the first deduction of points.
After their draw against Crystal Palace on Monday 19 February, Sean Dyche’s side climbed out of the relegation zone, going one point ahead of Luton Town.
The Hatters’ next run of games will give Everton the perfect opportunity to create a much-needed gap, coming up against Liverpool, Manchester City and Aston Villa over the next three fixtures.
However, Everton are being kept in the dark about a possible second punishment, which could come back to haunt Goodison Park at the end of the season if another deduction is awarded.
Without their current punishment, the Toffees could be five points off the top half of the table, but instead, are worrying about the threat of relegation. It is difficult to say where they might be after another case.
