Darren Bent has urged Kieran McKenna to move to West Ham rather than Crystal Palace if he chooses to leave Ipswich Town in search of a new club at the end of the season.
The former Ipswich striker insisted McKenna is doing a “fantastic” job at Portman Road despite their recent dip in form, and claimed he doesn’t think he will leave until the project he started has finished.

However, Bent went on to insist that if he must leave, he should go to West Ham, despite having been heavily linked with the Crystal Palace job, with pressure mounting on both David Moyes and Roy Hodgson.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [12 February, 18:36], Andy Goldstein asked: “What do you make of Kieran McKenna being linked to the Palace job?”
Bent then shared: “Stay where you are. Listen, he’s doing something right because I know Ipswich are having a bit of a wobble at the minute, but he’s doing fantastic things since he’s gone to that football club, and I don’t think he’ll leave until the project is finished.
“I get it if someone like West Ham come in, they’re a huge club, I get it. No disrespect to Palace.”
Kieran McKenna to replace David Moyes at West Ham?
Moyes’ situation at the London Stadium has been a hot topic of discussion throughout the season but after the 6-0 defeat to Arsenal and the news that the board have delayed contract talks, those discussions have heated up once more.
If they do decide to part ways at the end of his contract in the summer, McKenna should be one of the names right at the top of their list to replace him. A young manager playing an exciting, attacking brand of football is just what the fans have been asking for.
With relation to the Palace rumours, they are in a similar boat in that he completely fits the mould of their ideal candidate. West Ham, though, should have an advantage when it comes to pulling power, as Bent suggested.
David Moyes has largely had a successful second spell in charge of West Ham United.
The London Stadium job would represent a sizeable step up for McKenna, who should be considered alongside the likes of Gary O’Neil, Graham Potter and Jose Mourinho who have also been linked with the role in recent weeks.
In other West Ham news, Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer have spoken in support of Moyes.
