Ipswich Town have an £18million deal in place to sign Hull City’s Jaden Philogene despite interest from Everton, according to David Ornstein.
The Athletic journalist reported [9 July] that, while the Toffees are still in contention, the 22-year-old winger has agreed personal terms on a five-year contract with the Tractor Boys and is expected to undergo a medical.
It is understood that the situation is not yet closed, however, with former club Aston Villa also ready to activate a buy-back clause for Philogene until Wednesday 10 July.

Following a sensational season in the Championship, notching 12 goals and six assists in 32 appearances, Philogene would have been an extremely exciting addition at Goodison Park.
However, it looks as though the Premier League newcomers are set to beat the Toffees to the punch and claim the winger’s signature this summer.
The winger position has been generally problematic for Sean Dyche since his arrival at the club
But with the re-signing of Jack Harrison from Leeds United on loan and Iliman Ndiaye’s versatility, that no longer looks to be the case, especially with Philogene in the fold.
It is no surprise to see so many clubs after the 22-year-old this summer, with Liam Rosenior unable to lead Hull into the Championship play-off spots, which eventually saw him part ways with the club.

While Philogene was unable to make the all-important breakthrough during his time at Aston Villa, being sent out on loan to Stoke City and Cardiff City, he has far exceeded expectations in the Championship.
Evertonians will be able to watch the player star in the Premier League next season, though it is unlikely to be at Goodison Park with Ipswich set to make another impressive signing since gaining promotion.
