‘An interesting one’… How much Aberdeen really wanted from Celtic for Bojan Miovski
Celtic’s pursuit of quality in January led Brendan Rodgers to sign Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah before transfer deadline day.
With Celtic looking to add a striker to their ranks, Idah was the man preferred over Bojan Miovski as the Celtic manager looked to bolster his options up front.

For Celtic to get Miovski, it was believed that Aberdeen would have been looking for at least £4m for the North Macedonian international.
But now, it seems, that Celtic would have had to stump up at least double that. that’s according to Sky Sports’, Anthony Joseph.
Joseph shared what Aberdeen would have charged Celtic for the 24-year-old striker compared to what they would have accepted should a club from England or abroad come calling.
Joseph said [The Celtic Exchange], “Miovski, an interesting one. Because he’s a player who’s not just doing well in the Scottish Premiership.
“He isn’t just a proven talent in the Scottish Premiership. He’s done it in Europe and he’s done at international level as well.
“And he is a player that is one of the top players in the Scottish Premiership, he clearly is.

“But there is a Celtic tax. If Celtic were to come in, there’s a Celtic tax.
“Aberdeen, from what I understand, would have, if an English Championship team came in for him or a club in Europe, would have settled on about £5m-£6m.
“If Celtic were coming in, you’re talking about £8m to £9m.”

That’s quite incredible, although understandable, from Aberdeen. The Dons frontman has been one of the best strikers in Scotland this season and in a side struggling at the bottom end of the table, he has been superb.
With Celtic reportedly wanting Miovski in the January window [Football Scotland] it is little wonder interest wained in the 24-year-old if Aberdeen were looking for close to £10m for him.
With the best will in the world, Celtic simply won’t pay that for a player who will play second fiddle to Kyogo Furuhashi.
