Bizarre West Ham decision highlighted with unbelievable player wasted out of position vs Man Utd
One West Ham United player was really wasted during our defeat to Manchester United today, and it was so hard to watch.
West Ham actually played pretty well on the whole against Manchester United in the Premier League at Old Trafford today.
However, we lacked any real kind of cutting edge inside the final third, and Hammers boss David Moyes may well be ruing the way that he used one player in particular this afternoon.
Mohammed Kudus has arguably been West Ham’s best player this season, with 10 goals to his name already for us.
However, he was deployed as a left winger against Man United today, and was totally ineffective in the most part.
In fairness to Moyes, he did switch Kudus back out to the right flank for the second-half, but the Ghanaian was completely wasted out wide on the left in the first-half.
The damage was already done though, and it highlighted one terrible decision from the Hammers last month…

The Ghana international has absolutely everything needed to be a star of the game at the very highest level.
He’s incredibly strong, has real incisive pace and possesses exceptional technical ability. However, he was completely wasted against Manchester United at Old Trafford today.
Why was Moyes’s trying to shoe-horn Kudus in as a left winger when he’s at his best out wide on the right? He has Maxwel Cornet who can play there, or even Emerson.
Ben Johnson could then have moved into the left-back role. There is just way too much tinkering going on from the Scot right now and it really didn’t need to be that way.
Hammers boss Moyes had an entire month to sign a left winger of his choosing in January but he failed to do so. On top of that, why were Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals allowed to leave if we didn’t bring anyone in?
It was just an utterly mind-boggling transfer window from the club, and the fact that Kudus has to play out of position today highlighted the failings from Moyes, the owners and everyone involved with transfers.
