Everton were denied their first penalty in the Premier League this season despite Fulham defender Antonee Robinson handling on the line.
The left hand of the full-back clearly made contact with the ball after span off the bar following an effort from James Tarkowski.
Robinson’s contact forced the ball goalward, only to be cleared off the line by the outstretched foot of Timothy Castagne.

The ECHO understands VAR did look at the incident but referee Thomas Bramall was not requested to review his pitchside monitor because, according to the officials, Robinson’s arms were deemed to be down by his side when contact was made. Any contact was also deemed accidental by officials.
It is the latest contentious decision to go against Everton in the past two months. It follows controversial calls on the two most recent trips to the capital – when Everton were denied a penalty when Tottenham Hotspur’s Dejan Kulusevski pulled back Onana at Spurs, where Dominic Calvert-Lewin also had a goal disallowed following the intervention of VAR. VAR then intervened again to lead to Calvert-Lewin being sent off at Crystal Palace. That call was later overturned on appeal.
