West Ham table ‘Huge’ bid to sign player on permanent deal
West Ham United table ‘huge’ transfer bid for Ibrahim Osman
West Ham have submitted a “huge” offer to sign FC Nordsjaelland’s Ibrahim Osman this month, according to Farzam Abolhosseini.
The BT journalist reported via the Danish outlet’s website on 23 January that the two clubs were now negotiating freely and that an agreement could well be reached on a deal for the young winger.
A sale of the 19-year-old can reportedly be sealed for around €18million [£15.4m] and the situation is said to have “really taken off” now with a week left on the January transfer window.
The Ghanian graduated from the Right to Dream Academy and is said to be “really close” to another “dream come true” with a possible switch to the Premier League this month.
Action
Coming hot on the heels of a major breakthrough in the pursuit of a loan for Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City it looks like the West Ham transfer window has finally exploded into life.
David Moyes has been pushing to add the England international midfielder but came into the New Year looking like he needed attacking recruits more than anything.
Osman may be young but he has already made 29 appearances in all competitions so far this season for Nordsjaelland.
Whether Moyes would be ready to trust the teenager to contribute right away is a valid question when the Scot often seems reticent to actually use new recruits, just as has happened with the likes of Maxwel Cornet, Flynn Downes and Gianluca Scamacca in the past 18 months.
But with Said Benrahma apparently on the way out and injuries afflicting the forward positions this could be an exciting addition to the West Ham squad.
West Ham har budt på Ibrahim Osman. Der forhandles lige nu på livet løs med FC Nordsjælland om den største transfer i Superligaen denne vinter. Det forventes, at parterne når til enighed om 18 millioner euro
With fellow Ghanian Mohammed Kudus on his way back from the Africa Cup of Nations after their early exit from the competition, and Jarrod Bowen returning from injury earlier than expected, the situation looks like it might be falling into place at the London Stadium.
In other West Ham news, a Sky Sports journalist has now claimed a major Hammers deal could fall through.
