Everton: Lyon now ready assault to sign Arnaut Danjuma after fresh twist

Everton: Lyon now ready to step on accelerator to sign wantaway Arnaut Danjuma as fresh twist emerges from France
Everton may now have no choice but to allow Arnaut Danjuma to quit Goodison Park with Lyon now forcing an extra incentive for the forward in a fresh transfer twist.
RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins shared on Sunday (21 January) that Lyon are ready to end the loan spell of Chelsea loanee Diego Moreira in order to make space for Danjuma.
The young Portuguese winger looks set to return to his parent club at Stamford Bridge as Lyon are now ready to step on the accelerator to sign Danjuma who is desperate to quit Everton and join the French outfit.
Liverpool Echo reported on 18 January that the Toffees want to keep the Villarreal loanee at the club until the end of the season but Danjuma’s wish could make things difficult at Goodison Park.
Agreement on personal terms is believed to have already been reached [Foot Mercato, 11 January] but the decision now certainly rests with the Toffees who may well have to sanction Danjuma’s exit.
Everton really have themselves to blame over Danjuma’s situation at Goodison Park and that’s down to his limited opportunities at the club when his move over the summer was eagerly anticipated by all parties.
The attacker seemingly came close to a move to Goodison Park last January, only for Premier League rivals Tottenham to secure his services temporarily.
The club finally secured his signature over the summer with the expectation that he would rediscover his best form after his struggles in North London last season but that hasn’t happened with Danjuma an afterthought under Sean Dyche.
Danjuma has hardly been a crucial player for Dyche this season, with the 26-year-old having played just over 800 minutes so far and his wish to leave in search of game time is understandable.

And it seems as if Lyon are further persuading him to make the move as they look to cut the loan deal of Chelsea winger Moreira to make space for him in the squad – which should hand him all the incentive he needs to be certain that Lyon are desperate for him and see him as a vital addition in their quest for French Ligue 1 survival.
The decision now rests with Everton on whether they wish to cut short Danjuma’s loan to allow him his desire but that will now leave Dyche short in the attacking areas in their quest for Premier League safety.
