BREAKING: Latest Report Offers MASSIVE Update on Dak Prescott’s Future with Dallas Cowboys in 2024

According to NBC’s Mike Florio, the language in Dak Prescott’s current contract will see the veteran signal caller tied to the club in 2024 and beyond.

Per the report, Prescott’s cap number for the 2024 season will be a staggering $59.4 million as long as he’s on the Cowboys’ roster on March 1. Therefore, the leverage is all on the side of the player, because the Cowboys will need to extend Prescott in hopes of getting that 2024 salary down from nearly $60 million.

Following his injury riddled and up-and-down 2022 campaign, Dak Prescott has bounced back in a very big way in 2023 as the former Mississippi State QB currently sits with the fifth-best MVP odds with just two weeks to go in the regular season. The veteran signal caller has completed over 68% of his passes, while throwing for 3,892 yards, and tossing 30 touchdown passes to go along with another two scores on the ground.

All was well in ‘Jerry World’ as the Dallas Cowboys began their season with a 7-2 record, which included a five-game winning streak over the likes of the Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks, Washington Commanders, Carolina Panthers, and New York Giants. Despite a few losses to the Eagles, 49ers, and a shocking one in Arizona against the lowly Kyler Murray-less Cardinals, the Cowboys ended the regular season with back-to-back wins over the Jets and Giants to win the NFC East.

Unfortunately for the Dallas Cowboys, history repeated itself when Jerry Jones’ club was throttled by Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Wild Card in their own place, 48-32. After such an embarrassing loss to his old team, it was seemingly a foregone conclusion that Mike McCarthy would be the fall guy for the Cowboys’ short-coming…especially with names like Bill Belichick and Jim Harbaugh on the market.

However, Jerry Jones has other plans as he will keep McCarthy manning the sidelines in 2024, which will certainly be met with mixed reactions by Cowboys fans and foes alike.
