Sources close to the subject are optimistic about headway in the coming days, with a deal potentially being concluded before the end of February. ]

If the US investment firm aren’t approved, it’s believed they will maintain ties with the club.

“Understand 777 & Moshiri received new questions yesterday from Premier League re the Miami firm’s ability to fund its purchase of Everton,” he wrote via his personal X account.

“Masters suggested to DCMS that without “satisfactory answers”, remember, the approval process takes ‘a lot longer’.”

Everton’s circumstances are unprecedented; a takeover and Premier League charge concurrently impacted the club.

Despite the Toffees’ poor recent form, Sean Dyche deserves credit for working through such a turbulent period.

And the former Burnley boss appears to be pretty relaxed about the current ownership situation.

“We’ll see. They’ve been very casual with their information to us because it’s not a done deal yet,” Dyche told The Daily Mail.

“They’ve said, ‘Look, we’re not going to get involved because of all the due diligence and checks’.”

“They’ve been significantly up front with us and it was a very casual chat about life at Everton, picking our brains and becoming more informed.

“Until it’s a done deal, there’s no point (doing anything else).”

On the pitch, Monday’s clash against Crystal Palace has a pivotal feel.

Everton are yet to register a win in 2024 and are currently in the relegation zone. With Palace in disarray, Dyche’s men could pull themselves out of the bottom three and drag the visitors into the relegation dogfight.
