The Esk shares latest on possibility of further Everton punishment as fresh concerns raised
The Esk insists it “is not the case” that Everton are facing the possibility of a second points deduction for breaching profitability and sustainability rules.
The financial expert provided the update on his personal Twitter page on Tuesday (2 January) after Martyn Ziegler raised concerns over fresh charges at Goodison Park.
Ziegler reported for The Times on Tuesday [2 January] that Everton and Nottingham Forest are most at threat of being punished after all Premier League clubs submitted their latest financial accounts.

The Esk said: “Some speculation that we will have breached profitability & sustainability rules for the period to June 2023. This is not the case.
“I am told we are compliant & have not breached the limit given we have re-stated the 2021/22 accounts (capitalising interest payments).”
Scaremongering
Having already been docked a record 10 points by the Premier League this season, Everton really cannot afford to have any more points taken away from them.
Fears were first raised a month ago that the Toffees were flying close to the sun with regards to their latest financial figures, which were submitted in full by the 31 December deadline.
This update from The Esk is good news, of course, but it is unlikely to be the last we hear of this.
Thankfully, clubs will find out within the next two weeks whether they are at risk of punishment.
If that is the case, then it is expected that any points deductions or fines could kick in before the end of the current campaign.
In a weird way, that could actually benefit Everton if they have abided by the rules. That is because Forest are said to also be at risk, and they are one of the Toffees’ relegation rivals.
All supporters can do for now is sit back and await any official updates.
