Liverpool prospect Kaide Gordon has now suffered a gutting injury blow as he strives to return to competitive first-team action at Anfield after a long-term pelvic problem.
That is according to the Liverpool Echo, which reports that Gordon faces weeks out of action with another injury. It is not connected to the pelvic issue that had sidelined the 18-year-old for more than 18 months. The attacker had developed issues related to his physical growth.
Now, though, Gordon is set for another spell on the sidelines after rolling his ankle during an Under-21s fixture. The right winger came off their bench to make his long-awaited return for Liverpool’s academy in their 4-1 Premier League 2 defeat to Middlesbrough on September 3.

The Boro affair returned Gordon’s first taste of competitive minutes since February 2022. Yet he faces weeks out of action, right as the Reds’ £3m transfer from Derby County in February 2021 had started to regain his match fitness. But Liverpool do not believe it is a major injury.
Gordon will hope to put his ankle injury in the rear-view mirror quickly as he bids to get his Liverpool carer back on track. His pelvic injury stopped the England U19 international from establishing his role under Jurgen Klopp. The forward had played in four first-team fixtures.

Klopp gave Gordon his Liverpool senior debut in September 2021 at Norwich City in the EFL Cup. Another start also followed in the second leg of the semi-final with Arsenal in January 2022. While Gordon had also started against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup third round.
The FA Cup tie at Anfield returned the forward’s first Reds goal, as well. It sparked Klopp to praise Gordon’s ‘exceptional’ finishing, too, after becoming the club’s second-youngest all-time scorer after Ben Woodburn. He produced a composed finish to hand the Reds a lead.
Klopp also gave Gordon his Premier League debut in January 2022 against Brentford. But an eight-minute cameo against the Bees remains his only top-flight game so far. So, Gordon will have his eyes on a quick recovery and, possibly, on a European debut in the Europa League.
