Dele Alli will not play for Everton again – Former Goodison Park employee

Bryan King has blasted Everton for their “poor investment” regarding the signature of Dele Alli from Tottenham Hotspur.
The midfielder joined the Toffees in January 2022 in a deal that may cost up to £40million, according to Sky Sports [1 February, 2022].
Everton have, however, recently turned down an offer from Tottenham to alter the terms of the £10million deal agreed upon Alli reaching 20 appearances for the Merseyside club [The Times, 9 December].
Speaking to Goodison News, King said: “I can’t see how he is going to get into Sean Dyche’s team. I thought it was a poor investment from management at the club to bring in Alli at that time. He had enough personal and football problems without bringing him in.
“He isn’t an Everton player, that’s for sure. He hasn’t played, and I can’t see him playing for Everton again. It comes back to the fact of poor recruitment. I would never have brought him to the football club in the first place.
“He was a very good player. When he was at Tottenham, he was young, hungry, got into the team, got into the England team. He was a good player.
“The fact of the matter now is could he ever be a good player again? He’s the only one who is going to decide that, apart from Everton and Tottenham.
“I thought he had super potential. I just think of the recruitment, when you recruit someone for £40million, he wasn’t even playing for Tottenham at the time, poor management.”
The former England international has made 13 appearances for the Toffees, but has yet to feature under Dyche this season.
