777 chief gives Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell verdict and explains potential Everton transfer boost

777 Partners’ sporting director Johannes Spors has hailed the job being done by manager Sean Dyche and director of football Kevin Thelwell at Everton and explained how the club could receive a potential transfer boost.

Although a 10-point deduction imposed on the club last month currently places the Blues just one position above the relegation zone, they have gone from posting the lowest equivalent points total in the club’s entire history last season to on-the-pitch performances that would place them in the top half under Dyche if it wasn’t for the sporting sanction, winning their last three matches without conceding a single goal. Asked if he’d met Dyche, Spors told the Daily Telegraph: “Yes, I have. He’s brilliant.

“The whole Finch Farm training ground is great, the people I’ve met are great and to meet Sean Dyche was good. I met him in a longer meeting some time ago and around the games. It’s not only myself, but also Mladen (Sormaz, 777’s director of football analytics) and some other guys. Sean is doing a really good job, it’s fantastic.

The 41-year-old German has already taken a hands-on approach to Everton who would move to the top of 777’s global football food chain – they also have major stakes in Genoa, Standard Liege, Red Star, Vasco da Gama and Hertha BSC – if their proposed takeover is approved, having watched them beat Bournemouth, Newcastle United and Chelsea. Spors said: “In recent months, I have been to Everton very often and I love the stadium and the supporters, and the environment.

“I really like what Kevin Thelwell is doing, the way he structured the football organisation. The way he worked with the squad I think is going in an excellent way, together with the decision on Sean Dyche.”
