Ian Wright praises £90k-a-week Everton star who’s been ‘very, very good’ recently

Everton have become a different animal in recent weeks as they’ve shed their connotations with the relegation zone, instead now look set to contend for a mid-table finish.

The defence has been the key for Sean Dyche‘s side this season, with three back-to-back-to-back clean sheets in the last three games establishing the Blues defence amongst the league’s best.

However, the past two games have seen three goals struck past Newcastle United and then two past Chelsea which suggests the attack is catching up.

Dwight McNeil has been excellent recently, drawing comparisons to Everton legend Kevin Sheedy, due to his electric past few games which has yielded three goal contributions in three games.

But he isn’t the one Ian Wright has singled out for praise in his recent podcast episode where he was clearly raving about Everton and admitted he is happy for them.

Ian Wright made it known that he’s loving what Dyche is doing at Everton lately while he spoke during the latest episode of the Wrighty’s House podcast on Tuesday.

But before he raved about the work Dyche has done to get Everton back into a solid position, Wright also heaped praise onto Toffees winger Jack Harrison.

As his co-host rattled off the players who were doing well for Everton, Wright had one name on his mind and that being the £90k-a-week winger, Harrison.

“Jack Harrison, he’s been very, very good for them” he exclaimed about the on-loan Leeds United winger which only strengthens the sentiment that Everton should look into a permanent deal.

Harrison has really been impressive for Everton this season and his stats as per SofaScore tell that same story.

The winger has scored one and assisted three in his 10 league appearances this campaign for The Toffees.

He has averaged 1.2 key passes per game which demonstrates his creativity.

Defensively he is also a monster which explains why he’s already a favourite for Dyche with 5.1 balls recovered per game added to 1.3 tackles won per game.

Despite impressing, it’s fair to assume that he also has a few levels he could still improve upon and it’ll be intriguing to see how he does.
