OUTSTANDING; player knows Tottenham want to sign him, potential late bid

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly make a late bid for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.

According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Conor Gallagher from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea in the final two days of the summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur could bid for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher

The report has claimed that Tottenham are “preparing a late move” for Gallagher, who was described as “extraordinary and outstanding” by former Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel on the club’s official website in April 2022 while he was on loan at Crystal Palace.

The 23-year-old England international midfielder is reportedly aware that Spurs want to sign him.

The Daily Mail has claimed that a potential deal for Tottenham to bring Gallagher to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is likely to depend on whether or not Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg joins Atletico Madrid on a loan deal.

The report has claimed that although Gallagher would prefer to stay at Chelsea, he is realistic about his prospects of playing regular first-team football for the Blues this season.

The youngster has made three appearances in the Premier League and one in the EFL Cup this season.

Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino clearly rates Gallagher.

However, Chelsea have a lot of young and dynamic players who play or can play a similar role to the midfielder.

So, it is by no means guaranteed that Gallagher will be able to keep his place in the team in the coming weeks and months when the squad is more settled and there are fewer injuries.

We do not think that Gallagher should leave Chelsea so late in the window.

The midfielder should stay at Chelsea and continue to do his best.

If things change, then Gallagher could always revisit his future in the January transfer window.
