Hodgson must play to £14m Crystal Palace star’s strengths
Crystal Palace star Odsonne Edouard is not the perfect package but Roy Hodgson needs to start playing to his strengths more if he wants to turn results around.
He has five goals in 11 Premier League games.

What’s the story?
Crystal Palace started the season well and were in the top half of the Premier League. Sadly, their form has massively dipped and they have lost four of their last five games.
Two of these losses came against teams battling relegation and now, fans are more worried about the current season, especially with injuries mounting up.
The £14m signing has been scoring this season, and his five goals in 11 Premier League games is already level with the amount he managed the whole of last season.
He definitely lacks some qualities in which you need in a forward in the division; however, the Eagles need to play to his strengths more to get the best out of him and to turn results around.
Roy Hodgson needs to play to Odsonne Edouard’s strengths to turn Crystal Palace results around
Edouard is around 6 ft 2 and he is not the most physical in the air. Despite this, he has some top qualities which make him a good Premier League striker.

The Frenchman is quick and a top finisher. He loves to make runs in behind the defence and he has a poacher’s instinct.
Edouard has also scored a couple of goals this season when a low cross comes in from one of the wings. Sadly, we have not seen enough passes in behind or low crosses and are therefore not playing to his strengths enough.
With Jean-Philippe Mateta not performing well lately, Edouard feels like the only option for Palace up front.
Therefore, Hodgson needs to start playing to the strengths of the attacker to get him scoring even more. If he does this then there is no doubt that Edouard could hit double figures this season.
If Edouard is scoring more, then results will start to turn around for Palace. It seems like the best things for all parties if they play to his strengths more.
