Who has been Crystal Palace’s player of the 2019/20 season? See our picks and have your say…

It has been a mostly comfortable season for Roy Hodgson and his side, but who has shone for the south London club?

Read on for the Sky Sports Football selections and have your say. Want to make a case for another player? If you are reading on skysports.com, leave a comment below…

Jordan Ayew
After some tricky spells at other clubs, Ayew looks to be back to his best at Crystal Palace. He is their top scorer this season with nine goals – all in the Premier League – although only scored once after the restart as the Eagles faced a tricky spell of fixtures. He started in 37 of the 38 league matches this term, showing how important he has become for Hodgson.

Gary Cahill
Cahill still has some gas in the tank. Although he has faced spells out through injury, he started in all 25 games in which he played and even picked up an assist in a 2-2 draw against Manchester City. He has made 111 clearances in the Premier League and 56 headed clearances – both the highest in the Crystal Palace squad.

Vicente Guaita
Crystal Palace would be in a far worse position were it not for their goalkeeper. Guaita has pulled off some stunning saves this season and has kept ten Premier League clean sheets, with the most number of punches made (22).

Hodgson rallied around him when a bizarre own-goal against Sheffield United in February saw the visitors win 1-0, and thanked him for keeping the Eagles relatively safe from the relegation battle this season.

James McArthur
Arguably one of the Premier League’s most under-rated midfielders, McArthur is universally loved by Crystal Palace fans. He has been an ever-present in the middle of the park and since January 2018, has played in 92 of 93 Premier League games. This season, he has started in 37 of 38 top-flight matches.

He did not score this season but does have three Premier League assists – the joint most for club with Wilfried Zaha, with his last coming for Ayew’s 28th-minute winner against Watford on March 7. He has also made the most interceptions (161) and tackles (88) for Crystal Palace in the league this term.
The captain continues to be a driving force for the team and contributes with the goals too as the designated set-piece and penalty taker, scoring the most goals for Crystal Palace (27) since his debut in February 2017. Milivojevic is also not afraid of a midfield scrap – making 42 interceptions in the Premier League and 61 tackles – which is demonstrated by his league-high 12 yellow cards this season and has the heart and passion Crystal Palace fans appreciate.

Wilfried Zaha
Still the brightest star in Crystal Palace’s constellation, Zaha can always bring that bit of magic that switches a game. He has the joint-highest number of assists (3) alongside McArthur and featured in all 38 Premier League matches this season. He had the most shots (61) and created the chances (36) in the Crystal Palace team with four goals scored.
