Another five-point deduction on the cards for Everton as ‘unnecessary’ scenes slammed at Goodison Park

Goodison News is delighted to welcome aboard our brilliant new columnist Bryan King, the former goalkeeper who spent over eight years as a scout at Everton and 28 years in total in first-team scouting roles. Bryan also spent six years on Tottenham’s recruitment team and 11 years scouting at Aston Villa across two different spells…

Bryan King has slammed Everton fans for their anti-Premier League protest during the defeat to Manchester United at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Evertonians lifted pink cards calling the Premier League “corrupt” after the club was hit with a 10-point deduction for admitting to breaching financial rules.

However, former Toffees scout King wasn’t a fan of the protest, believing that the match was already going to be tough against Manchester United without throwing in extra sub-plots.

King also believes that a further points deduction could be on the way to Goodison Park.

“I thought they were outplayed. It looked to be a big gulf between Everton and Man United – and Man United aren’t playing well,” King told Goodison News.

“I didn’t like the pink card thing when they game started. They broke the rules and that’s the decision from it. Get on with it.

“I know they’re going to appeal it but there’s a possibility they could get five more points deducted.

“I thought the atmosphere was all wrong for that game with all those cards. They’re all flashing their cards up to the Premier League – it’s unnecessary. You’re playing Man United, that in itself is going to be a task.

“They were never in it again Man United. Everton looked like they belonged at the bottom of the league in that game.”

As per the Liverpool Echo, there are fears of further sanctions being placed upon Everton due to their never-ending financial issues under Farhad Moshiri.

In other Everton news, Gary Lineker has lashed out at Moshiri, who could be set to sell up to 777 Partners soon.
