New York Jets: 2023 NFL Power Rankings, Week 13 – Free Fall

NFL: Miami Dolphins at New York Jets

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports
The New York Jets woes deepened on Friday against the Miami Dolphins in a 34 – 13 loss. The Jets offense couldn’t get past misfield until well into the fourth quarter.

The Jets defense played one of its worst games of the season. The Jets threw a Fail Mary pass, something nobody’s ever seen before at the NFL level. It was a new low for the season, and another season down the drain.

The loss to the Miami Dolphins brought the Jets’ record to 4-7 on the season. Their playoff hopes are basically gone, just waiting for mathematical certitude. They next take on the 5-6 first place Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. The Falcons aren’t necessarily a more talented team than the Jets, but there may be no team in the NFL playing worse football right now than the Jets. Earlier in the season I would have liked our chances. Now, sheesh, it’s tough to predict a win when the offense can barely get past midfield.

How did the power rankings feel about this latest loss for the Jets? Let’s find out.
