Frank Reich played 93 games at quarterback for the Buffalo Bills from 1985-94.

NOV 27 REICH FIRED The NFL has a new head coach opening on Monday after the Carolina Panthers fired Frank Reich following a 1-10 start.

Reich was hired by the Panthers in the offseason after the Indianapolis Colts fired him.

During his 13-year career as a quarterback, Reich played 93 games with the Buffalo Bills from 1985-94, including two playoff games in 1992. He led the Bills to a comeback victory in the 1992 Wild Card after trailing 35-3 to the Houston Oilers.

NOV 26 JOSH ALLEN AGAIN Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is having one of his best games of the season on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

He put Buffalo up in front by 10 at 24-14 in the third quarter thanks to his second rushing touchdown of the game.

NOV 25 SAUCE GARDNER FINED FOR TACKLE ON STEFON DIGGS An already tough loss just became a little tougher for New York Jets cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner.

The second-year cornerback was fined $10,927 for his tackle against Buffalo Bills receiver Stefon Diggs. The tackle drew a flag for unnecessary roughness.

NOV 24 DOLPHINS BEAT JETS ON BLACK FRIDAY The Miami Dolphins are pulling ahead in the AFC East following their 34-13 win on Friday afternoon against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

The Dolphins are now 8-3, a full two games ahead of the Buffalo Bills.

The Bills will have a chance to inch closer to the top team in the division on Sunday when they face the Philadelphia Eagles. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET.

NOV 20 ZACH WILSON BENCHED AFTER BILLS GAME The New York Jets lost 32-6 against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, and feel the need to make a change at quarterback.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Jets will start Tim Boyle at quarterback for their next game on Friday against the Miami Dolphins.

Boyle relieved Wilson in Sunday’s game and completed 7 of 14 passes for 33 yards and an interception. Wilson had a similar stat line with 7 completions on 15 attempts for 81 yards, a touchdown and a pick.

NOV 13 JAMES COOK CRAZY PLAY Buffalo Bills running back James Cook started Monday night’s game against the Denver Broncos with a fumble on the opening play. It marked only the second fumble of his career, and it looked like he had his third on a crucial drive in the fourth quarter.

Instead, it turned into one of the luckiest plays you’ll see.

Cook was stripped of the ball by Denver safety Justin Simmons as he was about to break into the secondary. But instead of a Broncos recovery, the ball bounced off the turf and right back into Cook’s hands, who continued running before being tackled on a 42-yard run.

The Bills capped off the drive with a six-yard run from Josh Allen to take a 22-21 lead with only 1:55 to play in the fourth.

NOV 11 BILLS VS BRONCOS INJURY REPORT The Buffalo Bills have revealed their final injury report ahead of Monday’s meeting with the Denver Broncos at Highmark Stadium.

Buffalo has ruled out safety Micah Hyde (neck/stinger) and cornerback Christian Benford (hamstring) for the contest. Starting linebacker Terrel Bernard is questionable with a concussion.

Bills star receiver Stefon Diggs, who popped up on the Friday injury report with a back issue, was limited on Friday and Saturday. However, he does not carry an injury designation headed into Monday, and told reporters that he’s “100%” ready.

NOV 10 BILLS INJURY REPORT Could the Buffalo Bills be without their top receiver on Monday Night Football?

Stefon Diggs was added to the Bills’ injury report on Friday with a back injury that limited him in practice. Diggs’ status for Monday will be revealed on Saturday.

NOV 9 BILLS INJURY REPORT The Buffalo Bills have revealed their Thursday injury report ahead of Monday’s meeting with the Denver Broncos.

All four players who were listed as DNP for Thursday’s practice are on defense, as linebacker Leonard Floyd (illness), cornerback Christian Benford (hamstring) and safeties Micah Hyde (neck/stinger) and Jordan Poyer (shin) all sat out due.

NOV 5 MICAH HYDE INJURED The Buffalo Bills announced that safety Micah Hyde is questionable to return to the fourth quarter of Sunday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium due to a stinger.

Hyde landed hard on the turf while defending a pass to Ja’Marr Chase earlier in the game. He also took a blindside hit from Bengals offensive lineman Cordell Volson as a play was winding down, though Volson wasn’t flagged.

Hyde had to be helped off the field afterwards and was in visible pain on the sidelines.

NOV 3 JOSH ALLEN TO PLAY VS. CINCINNATI BENGALS After appearing earlier this week on the injury report, head coach Sean McDermott announced on WGR550 that Josh Allen will play on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium.

Allen didn’t practice on Wednesday because of his right shoulder, then was a full participant on Thursday, quelling much doubt that he’d be out on Sunday.

McDermott also announced that Damar Hamlin (illness) and Quinton Morris (ankle) are trending in the right direction after being full participants in practice on Thursday, while linebacker Baylon Spector (hamstring) and A.J. Klein are out for the game.

The Bills (5-3) face the Bengals (4-3) on Sunday at 8:20 p.m. ET.

NOV 2 JOSH ALLEN, DAMAR HAMLIN FULL PRACTICE Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was a full participant at Thursday’s practice after being listed as DNP on Wednesday due to a injury on his throwing shoulder.

Allen injured his shoulder in Week 8’s 24-18 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but didn’t miss an offensive snap en route to going 31 of 40 passing for 324 yards, two touchdowns and one pick.

Damar Hamlin, who will be making his triumphant return to Cincinnati, was also a full go at practice after missing Wednesday due to illness.

OCT 31 BUFFALO BILLS CONNECTED TO JAYLON JOHNSON With numerous injuries ravaging the Buffalo Bills’ defense, they could look to add another difference maker not just for the rest of this season, but for the future as well.

The Buffalo Bills are rumored to be one of the teams interested in Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson by Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz. Johnson is in the final year of his rookie contract and talks about a contract extension have gotten to the point where he’s been allowed to seek a trade. The San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers are also reported by Schultz to be in play for the young cornerback.

Johnson, 24, has two interceptions through six games this season and his play has earned him a grade of 84.4 from Pro Football Focus.

With Tre’Davious White out for the season due to a torn achilles, Johnson could step in and become cornerstone piece on the Bills defense for the future if traded to Buffalo.

OCT 26 JOSH ALLEN IN BLUE TENT Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen went into the blue medical tent on the sideline during the first half of Thursday night’s home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It’s unclear what he was being checked for, as the Bills didn’t announce an official injury in the first half. However, Amazon Prime sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung pointed out that Allen was not lifting his right arm much on the sideline, but Bills coach Sean McDermott said “he’s fine” when asked about it during the halftime interview.

Backup quarterback Kyle Allen was seen warming up on the sideline, but Josh Allen eventually exited the tent and began Buffalo’s fourth possession of the first half.

The Bills lead 17-10 in the third quarter.

OCT 26 BILLS BETTING FAVORITES VS. BUCS The Buffalo Bills are getting ready for battle tonight against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and sportsbooks like their chances.

SI Sportsbook lists the Bills as an 8.5-point favorite just hours before kickoff.

OCT 23 DORSEY VOTE OF CONFIDENCE? It is sometimes called “a dreaded vote of confidence.” And when we listen to Bills coach Sean McDermott dissect his team’s 29-25 loss to the lowly Patriots on Sunday in NFL Week 7, we wonder if what he’s saying about offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey comes under the heading of “dreaded.”

“I oversee all three phases, we have communication across all three phases,” McDermott said, speaking generally about where the 4-3 Bills are. “Collectively, we need to continue to find answers.”
