Crystal Palace prospect Killian Phillips, who is currently on loan at Wycombe Wanderers, scored a big goal for Ireland U21s last night.

Crystal Palace have a strong academy with many talents throughout the age groups and also out on loan in the English Football Leagues.
Phillips is one who many like and he is currently enjoying his time in League One at Wycombe, where he produced a lovely assist in an EFL Trophy match.
His form at club level was rewarded with a call-up to the Ireland U21s during the recent international break and his good form continued. Phillips scored the first goal for his nation in the European U21 qualifier match against very strong opposition in Italy. In the end, it was a crucial goal as the score finished 2-2.
Ireland U21s will no doubt be over the moon that they picked up the draw against a strong side. The result was huge as it means that they sit second in their group and only one point behind Italy in first.

The goal he scored was thoroughly deserved after Phillips put in a top performance and showed his potential against Italy U21s.
The attacking midfielder received a rating of 7.4 out of 10 on SofaScore. This was the best rating out of any Irish player who took part last night.
Phillips also won four ground duels, three aerial duels and had 32 touches. The Irishman put in a lot of work defensively, making two interceptions and two tackles as well.
It is great to see the 21-year-old put in the work both defensively and offensively. It shows that he has qualities in all areas of the pitch.
Phillips definitely has the potential but with him already 21 he needs to perform to a high level consistently for the rest of this season. No doubt Roy Hodgson will be keeping an eye on his performances.
If he can impress whilst on Wycombe then he may be given the chance in the first-team squad at Crystal Palace. It feels like the next few months are huge for the player.
