Everton’s potential new owners take action as Leicester compensation claim looms

Everton’s potential new owners, 777 Partners, are said to have factored in possible compensation claims from clubs to their takeover bid.

The Foxes were relegated from the Premier League in May, finishing just two points behind Everton in the final relegation place. But they would have survived in the top flight if the case against Everton had been concluded and the subsequent sanctions imposed before the end of last season.

It has been said Leicester could pursue a £100m compensation claim against Everton, which has sparked speculation 777 Partners could walk away from a deal to buy the club. But the i report 777 Partners are not only fully committed to a takeover at Goodison Park, but also factored in possible compensation claims during their due diligence.

Miami-based 777 Partners are currently going through the Premier League’s owners’ and directors’ tests in the hope of buying out Farhad Moshiri.
