Crystal Palace are able to boast a number of internationals within the squad nowadays – including Joachim Andersen.
The Dane is now a regular for Denmark, having developed into one of the best central defenders in the Premier League during his time at Selhurst Park.

What’s the story?
Well, the £17m man has just been nominated for the Male Player of the Year award in Denmark.
Manchester United No.11 Rasmus Hojlund and Barcelona No.15 Andreas Christensen make up the rest of the three-man shortlist.
Christensen helped Barcelona win La Liga in the 2022/23 campaign.
In regards to Hojlund, his stunning season with Atalanta earned him a £72m move to Old Trafford, so it speaks volumes that Andersen finds himself on the shortlist alongside these two.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed an excellent season for Crystal Palace so far in the 2023/24 campaign, scoring two goals, while also providing one assist, in 12 Premier League appearances.
No Premier League side have kept more than Crystal Palace’s five clean sheets this season either, showing just how effective Andersen is at both ends of the pitch.
Joachim Andersen nomination should increase his value at Crystal Palace
Andersen’s efforts have not gone unnoticed – Newcastle are said to be keen on signing him.
There are surely other sides interested in the Dane – who actually admitted he would like to play at a higher level – so Steve Parish should use this nomination to our advantage.
As aforesaid, Hojlund cost Manchester United a £72m sum, so if Andersen beats his fellow countryman to the award, why can’t we charge as much as £60m?
Putting Andersen’s future aside for a moment, it is great to see him receive a nomination for Denmark’s Male Player of the Year – hopefully, he can bring the award back to SE25.
