Jordan Love is taking on the tough role of replacing Aaron Rodgers this season, and it’s been an inconsistent start for the Green Bay Packers who are currently 2-3.
The Packers return from their bye week and face the Denver Broncos on Sunday, a game they’re expecting to win as their opponents are 1-5 this season even with Sean Payton as head coach. After supporting Love through the offseason and in his first few starts, there was some animosity at Lambeau Field when they lost 34-20 against the Detroit Lions in Week 4.
This became worse in Week 5 after a tough 17-13 loss against the Las Vegas Raiders, but fans have been given a reality check by former NFL player Jason Bell. It’s the first time since 1992 that the Packers haven’t relied on either Brett Favre or Rodgers as their starting quarterback, and Bell thinks that the fanbase needs to remember how lucky they’ve been.

“I think everybody needs to relax and give this guy time. I think he’s had five starts,” Bell told Mirror Sport via 888 Sport. “I mean, we know at the quarterback position, we talk about them peaking in their early 30s and Jordan Love has had five starts!
“The problem is the fan base there has been so lucky, they went from Brett Favre due to Aaron Rodgers – two Hall of Fame quarterbacks – so what they have seen is great quarterback play and you get spoiled, So, I get why the fans are a bit frustrated. He’s played five games, though, so let him learn and learn from his mistakes.”

Bell is confident that Love can restore some faith on Sunday by bringing the Packers back to a .500 record before they face divisional rivals Minnesota Vikings. The Packers have been used to winning the NFC North, and remain second in the division, but the rise of the 5-1 Lions has impacted the mood around Wisconsin.
