‘Like a new signing’: Jamie O’Hara says people have ‘forgotten’ how good £25m Tottenham star is

Jamie O’Hara says Yves Bissouma is ‘like a new signing’ for Tottenham Hotspur.

When at Brighton & Hove Albion, Yves Bissouma wowed the Premier League with his ice-cool performances from the middle of the park.

But when he ended up on Tottenham’s doorstep, they never saw that same player.

Given those struggles, O’Hara thinks that ‘people have forgotten’ how good Yves Bissouma is because he is a ‘top, top player’, as he told Sky Sports News (08/10/23).

On Saturday, the £25 million signing (Sky Sports) made his first big mistake when he got sent off for diving during his side’s win over Luton Town.

But putting that aside, O’Hara thinks the 27-year-old has been incredible under Ange Postecoglou.

Yves Bissouma ‘like a new signing’

“It’s a shame (Bissouma diving and red) because he has been absolutely sensational since he has come back into the side, Bissouma,” said O’Hara.

“He is like a new signing. I think people forgot how good it was. That season when he was at Brighton and Spurs signed him for about £30 million. I think he had the most tackles, interceptions and passes in the league.

“And he had a really bad season under Conte. No confidence and everyone kind of turned to Caicedo. Don’t forget that Bissouma is a top, top player. And he has shown that.”

This is where Antonio Conte is going to take a lot of verbal hits because he had this very same player on his books, yet somehow, made him go backwards.

The issue with Conte is that Bissouma hardly showed any promise last season, with nearly everything going wrong.

But this is where Ange Postecoglou deserves credit because he has, not only transformed Bissouma, but also a club that was pretty low during the final months of last season.
