Liverpool now most likely team to sign 22-year-old, he’s definitely going in January

Liverpool are leading the race to sign Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade in January.
Andre looks set to be one of the most sought-after players on the market in the New Year. With teams from Arsenal to Borussia Dortmund hot on his trail, the 22-year-old is a man in demand.
However, according to Spanish outlet Sport, it’s Liverpool who are still the team to beat for Andre.
Fulham had recently been claimed to have overtaken the Reds to secure the Brazilian’s signature. But Sport report that Liverpool are in fact, as of today, the ‘best placed’ team.
It’s claimed that Jurgen Klopp was ‘one step away’ from signing Andre in the summer, before the player decided to continue with Fluminense.
And although it’s stressed that ‘nothing has been decided’ in terms of a destination, it’s clear that Flu cannot keep the midfielder once again. The Copa Libertadores winners have reportedly given up hope of keeping Andre, who is said to be leaving for Europe ‘no matter what.’
Liverpool still in Andre hunt
This information seems to be in contrast to other bits and pieces coming out about Andre and Liverpool.
It was reported last week that with the Reds keen to put their faith in young Stefan Bajcetic, that they wouldn’t be looking to make a mid-season midfield signing.

Thus, ruling out a potential deal to sign Andre.
For many supporters, that would represent a mistake. That isn’t to do Bajcetic down at all, he’s a super young player. But there’s no current timeline for his injury and no guarantee that he hits top-level again this season.
Andre Fluminense
Given that a defensive midfield signing could well be the difference between a good and a great season for Liverpool, it would be a shame to pass up on a player like Andre.
Having seemingly been close to bringing him in during the summer, there’s no reason to give up now.
Since then, the Brazil international has only underlined his potential even further. Should Liverpool relinquish their lead and let Andre go elsewhere, you get the feeling they’ll regret it very soon.
Ram that advantage home Reds and bring him in!
