Report: Spurs keen to sign ‘promising talent’ from Juventus in January – Spurs Web – Tottenham Hotspur Football News

Tottenham Hotspur are in dire need of reinforcements in the January transfer window after injuries have hit the squad, and the latest report suggests the Lilywhites will look at Juventus starlet, Samuel Iling-Junior.

After a flying start to life under Ange Postecoglou which saw Spurs go ten games unbeaten in the Premier League and occupy the top spot in the division, the wheels have started to come off a little in the last week.

Red cards for Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie left Tottenham with a mountain to climb against Chelsea a week ago, and injuries to James Maddison and Micky van de Ven made matters even worse.

Missing those four key players hurt Spurs this weekend, too, as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Wolves in the dying embers of the game at Molineux on Saturday.

The cracks in the fairly thin squad are starting to show, and many suggest players like Eric Dier and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are not adequate replacements for first-choice stars. Needless to say, moves need to be made in January, and one target may have just been earmarked by The Independent.

It’s said Tottenham “sense there is an opportunity” for them to qualify for the Champions League, and will now look to add “much-needed depth” to their squad in the upcoming transfer window to bolster their chances.

On the radar, is Samuel Iling-Junior. The youngster joined Juventus in 2020 from Chelsea’s youth team, and has represented England through to Under-21 level. Now, the “promising talent” could be on his way back to London if Spurs get their way.

It is thought the “good business relationship” between Tottenham and Juventus could open the door for a move. The report also claims that Iling-Junior fits the strategy Spurs are going for right now, which is to acquire the best young talent early in their career.

Spurs Web Opinion
Iling-Junior is a versatile and very talented young man, who could provide a lot of support for our squad. I can definitely see something happening here, given our relationship with Juventus, but naturally, Postecoglou and the recruitment team have a lot of players on their minds.
