Vikings rule K.J. Osborn out, make T.J. Hockenson active in Week 10

With Justin Jefferson already out, the Vikings will see whether T.J. Hockenson and K.J. Osborn can play in Week 10.

The Minnesota Vikings have managed to stay alive despite injuries to numerous key stars. With Justin Jefferson still not ready to return, the statuses of T.J. Hockenson and K.J. Osborn for Week 10 are of major importance.

NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero provided a mixed bag of updates for Hockenson and Osborn as the Vikings host the New Orleans Saints.

The good news is that Hockenson is expected to play, which is great news for the Vikings. The star tight end is listed as questionable with a rib injury. The status update for Osborn, who is dealing with a concussion, is less hopeful for this week’s game.

The NFL Network insiders report that Osborn “has cleared the concussion protocol, source said, but that doesn’t mean he’ll play. It was a significant hit he took and MIN wants to check him today.”

UPDATE: The Vikings ruled Osborn out ahead of kickoff along with six other players. Hockenson was not one of them. As indicated previously, Hockenson is in and Osborn is out for Week 10.

Jefferson should be returning soon but until then, the Vikings’ offense will be missing a high-level gear. At 5-4, Minnesota is not out of the playoff picture and has the luxury of facing two more bad teams (the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos) before its bye week.
