Pundit blown away by what 24-year-old Liverpool player did today vs Brentford

Leon Osman was impressed with Darwin Nunez in the first-half of Liverpool’s win against Brentford today in the Premier League.

Speaking to BBC Sport, the pundit lauded the 24-year-old attacker as Nunez saw two goals ruled out by VAR for offside, with the forward eventually getting an assist for Mohamed Salah.

The Uruguay international has been in solid form this season despite still wasting some golden chances in front of goal for Liverpool, with today no other exception.

And Osman was impressed with what he saw from Nunez, who today was easily Liverpool’s most dangerous attacker at Anfield against Brentford.

The pundit said: “Darwin Nunez is pointing towards the goal as all good strikers should be. Really good play from Nunez on the shoulder of the defender. I think it’s fractionally offside.”

Osman later said on another Nunez chance: “The rebound bounces back out, Darwin Nunez improvises with a lovely overhead kick to find the back of the net, but he’s offside again!”

Salah might have taken all the headlines yet again for Liverpool, yet it was Nunez who was the real problem player against Brentford this afternoon.

The attacker has never looked as good as he does now for the Reds, and fans are fully aware that Nunez is only going from strength to strength in this new-look Liverpool.

Whilst a goal would have been ideal today, Nunez can be pleased with his performance this weekend, with the striker always looking like a real threat.
