New Everton transfer hope in twist

Everton face competition from Serie A giants Inter Milan for Winsley Boteli
Everton face new competition from Inter Milan for Borussia Monchengladbach starlet Winsley Boteli
Everton are facing fresh competition from Inter Milan for Borussia Monchengladbach starlet Winsley Boteli.
Inter Live reported on Saturday (11 November) that Inter are the latest side to show an interest in the 17-year-old.
Fabrizio Romano first reported last Monday (6 November) that Everton and Juventus are also keeping a close eye on Boteli.
The report suggests those two clubs have already sent scouts to watch the player, who has 12 goals to his name in 11 matches, making him the leading goalscorer in the Under 19 Bundesliga.
Everton showed in the summer window that they are looking towards the future with their signings, as highlighted by Youssef Chermiti’s arrival.
The Swiss teenager is lighting things up with Gladbach at age-grade level and is attracting interest from some Serie A heavyweights – and it may well be that Inter and Juve are too big a draw for Everton to compete with.
Boteli fits into a similar category as Chermiti, but it is becoming increasingly more clear that the Toffees have some serious competition on their hands.
That is no real surprise given his goals return this season, which includes a couple of hat-tricks already, plus a couple of braces.
Everton may have Dominic Calvert-Lewin now back available on a regular basis, but this is still an area of the field that could do with strengthening.
Boteli, capped by his country at Under-17s level, is clearly a player on the up and up, and hopefully the Toffees have a realistic chance of bringing him in next year. Otherwise, it probably makes sense to start looking elsewhere.
