Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite stance emerges as Newcastle eye January transfer
Newcastle are keen on bringing Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite to St James’ Park in the January transfer window, according to Football Transfers.
The news outlet reported on 13 November that the 21-year-old is keen on moving to Tynseside and joining Eddie Howe’s side.
It’s understood that the Magpies have earmarked him to succeed Fabian Schar – a three-time league winner with Basel last decade.
Branthwaite looked like he was on his way out in the summer itself but it turns out that Sean Dyche gave him certain first-team assurances.
He has become an important first-team player and has performed an impeccable centre-back partnership with James Tarkowski.

The duo have spared Everton’s blushes on a number of occasions this season but Branthwaite will have a lot of things to consider.
Newcastle are a Champions League team and under the current owners, they’re willing to spend big money to build a team for the future.
The chances of him going to the next level in his career are higher at St James’ Park and it’s a given that they will be able to offer more in wages than what Everton do anyway.
If he does want to leave and Newcastle are willing to pay the asking price, this is a deal that could end up happening in the coming weeks.
