Everton summer signing drops to reserves while Seamus Coleman also plays v Mansfield

Everton striker Youssef Chermiti has been dropped to the reserves as Seamus Coleman also starts for the under-21s v Mansfield on Tuesday, 7 November.

The Portuguese striker moved to Goodison Park over the summer and is still to prove to Sean Dyche that he deserves regular minutes on the field of play.

Coleman, who’s recovering from a long-term injury is also being included in order to get some game time and match sharpness.

Chermiti wasn’t really well known by the Toffees fans and there was intrigue as to who Dyche and the club are bringing in.

It was evident that they needed a quality striker and unless the 19-year-old was a wonderkid that nobody knew of, he wouldn’t be enough.

They did sign Beto who has played second fiddle to Dominic Calvert-Lewin who’s done really well since returning from injury.

As long as he’s fit, Chermiti is going to be the third choice option and if he is to climb up the pecking order, he’s got to do better for the reserves.

A game against Mansfield is a good opportunity for him to prove his credentials and it remains to be seen how things transpire.

Hopefully, he grabs a few goals and puts Dyche on notice that he deserves more game time.
