AFC Bournemouth Locks in Young Talent: Michael Dacosta Gonzalez Signs New Contract.

The exciting frontman, who has attended training camps with Spain under-21s, has made impressive progress since joining the Cherries academy when he was eleven years old. Michael Dacosta Gonzalez, an emerging talent, has committed his future to AFC Bournemouth by signing a new long-term contract at Vitality Stadium. Dacosta Gonzalez is a member of the Cherries development squad.

Due to his success with Alan Connell’s team the previous season, Dacosta Gonzalez was named to the Premier League’s starting lineup for the team’s visit from Manchester United, training alongside the first team. Dacosta Gonzalez informed afcb.co.uk that signing a contract at this club is an honor and a privilege. His younger brother Malcom just committed to a two-year scholarship with the Cherries. “Since I’ve been here at the age of eleven, the club has only ever gone up. I’m ecstatic and, with any luck, I can finish.

“I’m glad for myself, but my mother is the main reason I’m happy—without her, I couldn’t have succeeded. My mom, myself, and everyone else are ecstatic. I’m feeling a lot of emotions and am incredibly excited about the opportunity to perform well for this team. “I hope I can just keep going all the way and that this isn’t the last long-term contract this club offers me.” The dream is to play Premier League football with this team. The Cherries development squad had a fantastic debut season as a category two academy, thanks in large part to Dacosta Gonzalez.

He scored eight goals, including some incredible ones, and provided four assists while Connell’s club competed for titles in the Servio Hampshire Men’s Senior Cup, the Premier League Cup, and the Professional Development League. The 19-year-old, who was born and raised in Alicante before moving to England at the age of seven, also saw action in 2022–2023 as a reserve for the first team against Brentford. Manager of the development squad Connell stated: “We are happy that Michael has committed to a new, long-term deal. He’s a young player who has spent a lot of time with the team. We are beginning to recognize his enormous potential.
