For the first time in over a month, Dallas Cowboys star CB Trevon Diggs addressed the media.
The talented playmaker suffered a season-ending injury in his ACL in practice on September 21, but it wasn’t until last week that he decided to undergo surgery to solve the issue.
The reasons why he waited so long to get the surgery are undisclosed, and it was kind of an unusual decision, considering the players usually decide to address those issues as soon as possible.
Then again, still in crutches, Diggs claimed to be in good spirits and not worried about working his way back to the field (via Jon Machota).
The 25-year-old talked about there being so much technology and medical breakthroughs to help him get back to full strength, adding that he’s just got to roll with the punches and follow God’s plan.
The Alabama product has stayed close to the team despite his injury, even traveling to Los Angeles for their game vs. the Chargers.
Nonetheless, he’s not going to do the same for Sunday’s clash vs. the Philadelphia Eagles, considering he just went under the knife.
The Cowboys have obviously missed one of the best ball-hawks in the game.
Still, DaRon Bland has done more than okay as his replacement.
He’s set the franchise record for most pick-sixes in a season (3) already since moving to the slot to replace Diggs, and he’s just one away from setting an NFL record in that regard, so maybe he could do it against Jalen Hurts.
