Journalist shares timeframe for Neto recovery as winger edits his injury update

Wolves winger Pedro Neto is facing a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury against Newcastle United.

Journalist Tom Collomosse shared an update on social media reporting that the initial recovery period Neto suggested of a ‘couple of weeks’ might be ‘optimistic’.

Neto has been in incredible form at the start of the new season, providing seven assists for Wanderers and scoring one goal. He’s been at the heart of everything for Wolves.

But against Newcastle, he suffered a big setback. When he was racing towards goal, he pulled up clutching his hamstring.

Neto was then treated by medics for several minutes. He left the action on a stretcher, which was a very worrying sight for the Molineux faithful.

However, on Sunday the player moved to allay fears that he would be out for a long time. He had written on social media that he would be out for ‘a couple of weeks’.

It is now being suggested this could be ‘optimistic’…

Neto looks like he will be missing for a handful of games for Wolves.

But journalist Tom Collomosse believes that him coming back in a couple of weeks may not be the case. He wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Pedro Neto: Wolves hopeful that it’s not as bad as first feared. However ‘a couple of weeks’ seems on the optimistic side. Back for Christmas?”

In addition to this, Neto has actually now seemingly edited his original social media update on Instagram.

Initially, he had written that he’d be out for ‘a couple of weeks’.

He, or someone managing his account, has now changed this to ‘a few weeks’. Perhaps Neto had jumped the gun on Sunday in a bid to calm the Wolves supporters.

Neto back after the international break?
So it looks as though Neto could be out a little longer than first thought, but still not as long as feared when he was leaving the field on a stretcher.

Maybe Neto received more information after putting out that first update.

There is another international break coming up soon, so it looks highly unlikely Neto will be featuring in the next two games against Sheffield United and Tottenham Hotspur. The next international break commences on November 13, and Wolves then play Fulham on November 27.
